Increase in Edinburgh office take-up

The take-up of rented office space in Edinburgh rose during the second quarter of the year, according to new figures.
According to Jones Lang Lasalle, rental office lettings increased to 200,000 square foot (sq ft) during the three months to June from 1840,000 sq ft in the first quarter of 2008, the Scotsman reports.
The office agency claims the take-up during the period is "in line" with the same quarter last year.
Cameron Stott, director of Jones Lang LaSalle, told the newspaper:" The office market is continuing quite robustly even though the dark clouds of the economy are hanging over us."
Law firm Morton Fraser signed the biggest deal of the quarter with the pre-let of 37,000 sq ft of office space at Quartermile.
Meanwhile, a report by US organisation the Association of Foreign Investors in Real Estate has predicted London's commercial property market will be one of the most attractive to investors as they look to markets which have remained stable in the long term during the current economic downturn.
